Introduction to my Design Project
Hi and welcome to my blog! I am a third year engineering student studying in Trinity College Dublin. This post is a brief introduction to my design project and the type of content you should expect to see over the coming weeks.
Due to COVID restrictions all of our lectures have been moved online and modifications to modules have had to be made. Therefore, the Design II module project was changed to be ‘at home friendly’. As a result of this, our class have been given the task to carry out a number of assignments involving the ELEGOO TumbllerSelf-Balancing Robot such as, making a CAD model, assembling the robot and writing software to control its actions!
Our first task is to create a CAD model of the robot using the program Solidworks. I am in the process of making the first draft of the CAD render of the robot. However, I do not have access to the robot yet, so it is proving slightly difficult to visualize the individual parts, especially the dimensions but I am trying my best! Once I receive the ELEGOO kit I will assemble the robot and will also have the ability to modify the CAD render to a much more accurate image.
Stay tuned to follow my progress for this project and follow the link below to check out my Twitter account for more updates!!
